St Agnes Library

A welcoming community space to read, learn and connect

St Agnes Library is run by St Agnes Parish Council and is part of the Cornwall Libraries network, providing books, digital resources and community services for residents and visitors in the parish.

Located in the heart of the community, the library is a friendly and accessible place where people of all ages can discover new books, study, learn new skills or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a good read. For many residents, it is also a familiar and valued part of village life – a place to pause, browse the shelves and feel part of the community.

Whether you are a regular reader, a student looking for resources, or a family searching for something to do on a rainy Cornish afternoon, the library offers something for everyone.

Membership is free, and with a Cornwall Libraries card you can borrow items from libraries across the county. If a book you are looking for is not available in St Agnes, it can often be reserved from another Cornwall library and collected locally. Members can also renew loans and manage their account online.

Alongside its collection of novels, biographies, children’s books, large-print titles and audiobooks, library members also have access to a range of digital services. Through apps such as BorrowBox and PressReader, you can enjoy eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines from home on your phone, tablet or computer.

The library also provides public computers and free Wi-Fi, helping visitors access online services, information and learning resources. From language courses to family history tools, Cornwall Libraries offer a variety of trusted digital resources that support learning, curiosity and lifelong discovery.

St Agnes Library also regularly hosts activities for children and families, helping young readers discover the joy of books and storytelling. These may include story sessions, seasonal craft activities and other informal events designed to encourage reading and creativity in a relaxed and welcoming environment. For the latest activities and upcoming events, please check the St Agnes Library Facebook page.

More than just a place to borrow books, St Agnes Library is also a welcoming community hub. It offers a calm and friendly space where residents can meet, read, study or simply spend time in a relaxed environment. Libraries across Cornwall also host occasional activities and informal groups that help bring people together and support community life.

Whether you are visiting to borrow a book, explore digital resources or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, the team at St Agnes Library will be happy to welcome you.
