I have lived in St Agnes since 1989 and now live in the Goonown community. I have been involved in local life for many years, including coaching at St Agnes Football Club for eight years during the 1990s and early 2000s, taking a junior team from under-10s through to under-18s.

Over the past 35 years, I have held senior executive and non-executive leadership roles across local government, health, housing, social care and the voluntary sector. These have included serving as a statutory Director of Adult Social Services for a number of local authorities and as Managing Director of Tricuro, a council-owned care provider.

My non-executive experience includes nine years as Group Chair of Coastline Housing, together with roles at Devon and Cornwall Probation Service, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Cornwall Care. I am currently Chair of Cornwall Cricket Board and of Havencare Homes & Support Ltd (a care provider for adults with a Learning Disability and/or Autism). Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in governance, safeguarding, organisational improvement, partnership working and the management of complex public services. I was awarded an MBE in 2010 for services to local government and social care and, in 2018, received the National Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award.

I became a Parish Councillor because I believe local people’s views and perspectives should be heard and represented fairly, and because I wanted to give something back to the community. I believe in open and transparent decision-making, listening carefully to residents and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for the parish.

In my spare time, I enjoy golf, cycling, walking the North Cornwall coast and spending time with family and friends.
