*The £10 fee for a residence card covers the cost of the physical plastic card, paid by the Parish Council to the issuing company, along with administration time. As the Council’s funds come from council tax, issuing cards for free to all 8,500+ residents would divert money from other community needs; this way, only those who choose to obtain a card pay for its production, rather than the cost being borne by all residents.
