This morning, our Maintenance team found an inappropriate note inside a cubicle at the Churchtown public toilets, which appeared to be soliciting sexual activity.
An individual was disturbed at the site and left the area. The matter has been reported to the police, including the individual identity details, and we are working closely with them as enquiries continue.
Regular daily checks at sites will continue, and neighbouring councils have also been made aware of this type of behaviour.

At approximately 14:45, Council staff attended the Churchtown public toilets to install public safety notices.
During this visit, a further inappropriate note was discovered outside an occupied cubicle. Staff made contact with the individual present, who admitted responsibility.
The individual was peacefully detained by Council staff pending police attendance. Police officers attended, confirmed the individual’s identity, and advised that no offence had been committed; therefore, no further action was taken. The individual was escorted home.
The Parish Council continues to work in partnership with Devon & Cornwall Police and will carry out regular checks at the site.
